Ahhh, spring!

I love that earthy smell after it rains

A soil bacterium is behind that nice earthy smell.

I'm part of a group called the Actinomycetes. We hang out in the soil, and when it rains…

Our spores get kicked up into the air and float around, along with our earthy odor.

So really, that smell means you're inhaling zillions of tiny bacterial spores!

Ahhh, spring.
