By following theses simple steps you will remain comfortable when external temperatures are low. • · • • Check the weather forecast, by doing this you will know what work conditions are likely to be throughout the day Dress appropriately, for the temperatures and weather conditions that are expected that day, don't wear a shorts and a t-shirt when the temperature outside is -1°C and there is a snow storm, instead opt for multiple layers of clothing to keep you warm, also a hat and gloves are a good addition Eat a healthy and nutritious meals, your body needs energy to keep you warm when it's cold, by eating a nutritious meals before, during and after work, you will provide your body with the vital nutrients it needs to do its job Drink warm drinks, by drinking hot drinks you can keep warm and prevent or reduce the effects of cold stress Report to your Team Lead or Manager, if you are suffering from any symptoms of Cold Stress, This will prompt action to be taken such as first aid assistance if required etc.
